Working Against Racism In West Belfast event held in Falls Community Council on Monday 27 June 2011

A cross section of activists from community organisations, ex-prisoners groups, MLAs and trade unionists attended a round table discussion organised by WARN in the Falls Community Council this evening. Guest speakers were Nathalie Donnelly, local organiser UNISON and Mark Donahue Equality Officer An Munia Tober. Nathalie spoke about the issues experienced by migrant workers while Mark spoke about the issues affecting the Traveller community in West Belfast. The presentations were followed by a good discussion about how community organisations can engage around the issue of racism. The evening concluded with the launch of WARN’s new website www.westagainstracismnetwork.org .
Thanks to the Falls Community Council for hosting the event, to the West Belfast Partnership Board for administration support and to the Inclusion Festival for funding.
